Nancy O'Dell's professional career started in Myrtle Beach South Carolina as an anchor and reporter for news for WPDE-TV. She later became a morning news anchor as well as a crime reporter at WCBD TV. Her articles from Charleston on how Charleston police dealt with DUI cases with care, led to an inquiry by State Law Enforcement Division. This investigation led to a more strict directive for state authorities. Ms. O'Dell won the Best Report of the Media Award in South Carolina by the Associated Press. O'Dell then worked for NBC's Miami-based station WTVJ-TV as a investigative reporter, before she joined Access Hollywood in the role of co-anchor for the weekend.
