Julie Chen Moonves hosted the popular summer reality show Big Brother which returned to CBS for its 22nd Season on August 5. Chen Moonves had been the first of The Talk's hosts, hosting and moderating the talk show since 2010 to the year 2018. Her true passion was when she began writing her own show and won an Emmy. Hosting an outstanding entertainment talk show has earned her a second Emmy. From 2002 until 2010, Chen Moonves was the co-host for CBS News' morning weekday broadcast The Early Show. She anchors The Early Show as well as CBS Morning News. The CBS Television Network broadcasted a half-hour of news at the beginning of the morning. Chen Moonves also covered the conflict in Iraq and other significant news stories on The Early Show. Chen Moonves was tasked with reporting from Cairo following the events of the terrorist attacks of 9/11. In Cairo, she scoured down and interviewed the father who commanded hijackers to an eye-opening, captivating interview. Chen Moonves interviewed celebrities such as Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie. In addition, she met with former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and Queen Rania. Chen Moonves reported on the Emmy award-winning CBS Sunday Morning program. The program featured celebrities such as Jamie Lee Curtis, Betty White, Jamie Foxx Katie Holmes, Scarlett Johansson Matthew McConaughey Brooks, Robert deNiro Jennifer Lopez, and Matthew McConaughey. Before joining CBS News Chen Moonves worked as a reporter at WDTN-TV Dayton (1995-1997). Also, she was a reporter for ABC NewsOne from 1992-1995. Her first job in broadcasting was as a desk associate for ABC News' late-night broadcast Nightline together with Ted Koppel, who remains one of her journalists' heroes. Chen Moonves, who won Columbia du-Pont for the primetime Anatomy of a Riot special that explored the 1992 Los Angeles riots, worked in conjunction with Koppel.
